Prime Day July 15th and 16th 2019

Sharing is caring!

UPDATE: Now, Prime Day is over for this year HOWEVER the good news is that information below regarding opportunities for Amazon’s free trial and some of the savings on offer are still available for you. Read on…

Amazon’s Prime Day is a HUGE once-a-year sale and it is coming up on the 15th and 16th of July 2019. It only runs for 48 hours! That’s it…48 hours!

What is Prime Day 2019? And, is it worth it?

Amazon Australia’s description is: “It is a two-day parade of epic deals, starting 15 July 12am AEST, and ending 17 July at 5pm AEST. Prime Day is an annual celebration with awesome deals, plus live entertainment and more, exclusively for Prime members.”

For the American site – Prime Day begins July 15, 2019 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 8 AM BST / 5 PM AET and runs for 48 hours, ending on July 17 at midnight PT.

Exciting hey! There is nothing like a good sale.

This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience (which means if you make a purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission but it won’t cost you a penny more)!  Read my full disclosure policy.

Is this a benefit for Crafters?

Wondering if it is worthwhile? I know I did. Especially the Aussie site which is relatively new to Australia. The American site is part of the countries way of life (errr, actually we all know that site!) and crafting items are such a bargain with many great deals but for Aussie’s, the postage, in particular, has been a killer.

And to be honest, I have been in awe of the American site and the Aussie site…. not so much.

HOWEVER, I have worked some great options out! Read on.

Prime Membership

Now to make the most of Prime Day you need to be a Prime member. The best news is that Amazon offers a 30 day free trial period. This will allow you to purchase Prime Day bargains at no additional cost to you. Whoohoo!

So that is the first bit of good news….but wait, there is more.

I worked out how easy fast it was to order things now from Amazon because of Prime as so many things qualify for Prime’s free two-day shipping. Free shipping…..yay!

AND for Aussie’s there is more …. Prime members get FREE Standard International Delivery on millions of eligible Amazon US items over $49 when shopping on amazon.com.au. You know, those items I have been in awe of! Whoop Whoop!

Say goodbye to those killer costs I was unimpressed with.

I think Prime is going to be a game changer for me and my crafting habits.

You can sign up for Amazon Prime at this link for the U.S. site and this link if you want the Aussie site. Amazon makes it pretty easy. But keep in mind Prime is not free. This is why I wasn’t interested at first. But when I realized it has free two-day shipping, I got the free trial on BOTH sites.  Let’s see how we go. I will keep you posted!

Don’t forget — Amazon Prime has a FREE ONE MONTH TRIAL!
Tip:- There is an option for them to send you a reminder just prior to the end of your 30 days.

Tip: Anyone with a valid .edu email address can sign up for a 6-month free trial for Amazon Prime Student here.

Originally I thought I would just use the trial for Prime Days and then cancel. But when I realized how much money I was going to save on shipping, I will keep it.

Tip: If you sign into one Amazon and need to change sites simply change the location at the top right-hand side of the toolbar and it flicks you to the location you want.

Well, that’s easy!

MONEY-SAVING BONUS TIP:

RIGHT NOW YOU CAN GET A FREE $10 AMAZON CREDIT WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD AND SIGN-IN TO THE AMAZON MOBILE APP FOR THE FIRST TIME!

(This $10 credit is for new and existing Amazon Prime members who have never signed into the Amazon app before now.)

Purchasing

While I still feel a bit disappointed with the Aussie Amazon site, I am giving it a go BUT my recommendation is to check the pricing carefully. What I do is go between the two sites and compare them, working out the best option. (Umm and actually, I then go and check Spotlight as well…..shhh don’t tell anyone).

Tip: Aussie crafters – On the American site change the settings so you see the prices in AUD. It makes it so much easier to work out if it is truly a bargain. It saves brain strain too.

To do this you click on the EN drop down on the top right-hand side. Right at the bottom, there is the option for currency. Go in and alter to AUD and then what you view will be shown in Australian currency.

So, the conclusion…. is it worth it?

Yep, with the free 30-day trial, the free $10 with the first use of the Amazon App and if you are a student…6 months free it is certainly worth a look. Add to that the Prime Day bargains, that will be the clincher.

What I am hoping to do is to provide you information on the bargains as soon as I am able because as most of you already know, the best bargains go REALLY QUICKLY and I don’t want you to miss out.

Keep you posted,

Happy crafting!
